Broadband or ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line) is a proven technology that takes advantage of standard copper telephone lines to provide secure, reliable, high-speed Internet access. Broadband technology offers dramatic speed improvements to other network access methods. Unlike traditional dial-up connections, such as analogue modems and ISDN, Broadband delivers continuous "always on" access. That means multimedia-rich websites, email, and other online applications are immediately available to you, anytime. Vital Broadband makes it possible for you to remain online even while you're talking on the telephone - without jeopardising the quality of either connection.

Vital use the B.T. network to provide UK wide coverage linked to Vitals own IP network. As with all Broadband products speeds on the various plans will vary depending on many factors, including but not limited to distance from the local B.T exchange, internet congestion, upload and download speed of your destination server.

Unlimited data transfer with high-speed broadband access

All our Broadband products come with a choice of three download speeds 512k, 1M, 2M, which are respectively 10, 20 and 40 times faster than traditional dial up and deliver unlimited data transfer. All upload speeds are 256k.
(You can continue to use your telephone as normal whilst you use the Broadband service)

Requirements

  • A B.T Direct Exchange Line (DEL) is required for the Vital Broadband service
  • An internet enabled PC with relevant operating systems
  • Suitable router or modem

For 1Mbps and 2Mbps Services

If your Business Broadband (ADSL) order is rejected by BT because you are outside of the 3.5KM limit for the Business 1Mbps and 2Mbps service, you may still be able to receive the Broadband 512k service which has a limit of 6KM.
Vital will be able to advise on line restrictions at time of ordering.

Micro-Filters

Micro-filters are required to prevent a conflict between the frequency used for telephone/fax communications and the frequency used to transfer data across the Internet. Unless you already own a Micro-filter or have chosen to purchase your modem from Vital, you will be required to order at least one to be able to connect to your Business Broadband (ADSL) service. Please note that if you have multiple telephone sockets attached to a single telephone line, one Micro-filter will be required for each telephone socket.

Please Note: Micro-filters are required on ALL telephone sockets connected to the Business Broadband (ADSL) enabled telephone line; this includes customers with satellite television.
